Product Spotlight | Sweater Comb & Sweater Stone

Sep 25, 2014

Fall is officially here! Cue the merino turtlenecks, cashmere scarves and gloves, woolen throws, and all things made of fabrics that keep us oh-so warm and cuddly when bearing the brisk temperature. As these pieces offer us much needed relief from the elements, we can’t help but wear them again and again…and again! Now, cue the pills.

Pills occur from wearing (not a result of washing)! When fibers loosen, they form little balls, which tend to appear on loosely woven woolens, knitted synthetics, and blends. Luckily, we have not one, but TWO de-pilling tools that will maintain your pieces’ appearances while protecting the fabrics’ integrity. So which tool should you be using to satisfy all of your de-pilling needs: the Sweater Stone, the Sweater Comb, or both?

The Sweater Comb

*Ideal for delicate knits & fine gauge woolens

To be used on:

  • Thin, lightweight sweaters
  • Delicate scarves
  • Wool gloves
  • Pant legs
  • Cashmere robes

The Sweater Stone

*Ideal for heavier woolens, thick gauge yarns & upholstery

To be used on:

  • Thick, woolen sweaters
  • Suits
  • Outerwear
  • Blankets
  • Knit furniture & pillows

How To Use

For both the Sweater Comb AND Sweater Stone:

  • Lay the piece being treated on a flat surface.
  • Brush gently in one direction, using short strokes.
  • For best results, de-pill items prior to laundering.

What About Lint?

For lint and hair removal between wearing and washing, the Cashmere Brush is our go-to. Ideal for fine yarns, the Cashmere Brush works to rid lingering fuzzies and hair while rejuvenating the fibers’ natural oils.
