Ready to Learn How to Wash a Down Pillow?

You Can Wash Down Items Right at Home

Down pillows are one of those items people often wonder whether or not they can wash at home. We’re here to tell you that it can be done with The Laundress Wool & Cashmere Shampoo! Here’s how to wash a down pillow. If you have any stains to deal with, you’ll also want to apply Stain Solution before washing. Once you’re ready to wash, set the washing machine to the delicate or woolens cycle to wash your pillows. You may need to do one at a time so as not to overload your machine, though two will often fit.

Wash Then Dry Your Down Pillows

When it comes time to dry your down pillows, it is ideal to add clean tennis balls to your dryer. Dry your pillows on low heat with the tennis balls to naturally fluff pillows during the dry cycle. Switch the setting to air dry with no heat to finish off the pillows. Be sure that they are completely dry before using, as mildew can form otherwise. Down can over heat, so do not use low heat for the entire drying cycle.
