Believe it or not, even a machine that’s built to clean all day long gradually gets dirty. Deep clean your dishwasher every few months to keep your machine running its best and ensure a dazzling finish for dishes and glassware.
Gather These Tools:
Clear Food & Debris
Food and debris that didn’t make it down the drain can linger in your dishwasher’s food trap, causing odors and preventing a spotless clean. To clear out buildup, locate the trap under the lower sprayer and remove it entirely. Apply a small amount of Dish Detergent and hand wash it in the sink. Rinse well. Before re-inserting it into the machine, wipe down the area where the food trap was positioned with a damp Lint-Free Cleaning Cloth.
Seal The Deal
Spray seals and rubber gaskets with the Surface Cleaner and wipe away grime with the Lint-Free Cleaning Cloth.
For an all-encompassing clean, add ¼ cup of Scented Vinegar and 1 capful of All-Purpose Bleach Alternative to the dishwasher and run a normal load free of dishware. This is especially effective for removing any soap scum and filmy residue caused by hard water.
