A Lyocell Clothing Care Guide For Shirts Leggings & More
What is Lyocell fabric? Lyocell is a type of rayon fabric that is made from dissolving cellulose or wood pulp using an innovative spinning process. It is used in virtually everything from denim to towels, lyocell sheets, and other bedding, causing many to wonder, does lyocell shrink or wrinkle? While lyocell spandex fabric is durable, sustainable, stretches, and is wrinkle-resistant (lyocell doesn't wrinkle), there's more to caring for your lyocell shirts, and jeans, than meets the eye. Lyocell material is susceptible to mildew. To help prevent odors, pretreat areas before beginning your stain removal process, such as collars, cuffs, and underarms with the Stain Solution or the Wash & Stain Bar for best results. Read the Clean Talk Blog to discover expert handwashing tips, and time-saving drying hacks.
Treat stains on your lyocell shirts, sheets, leggings, and other clothing with Stain Solution or the Wash & Stain Bar. Focus on susceptible areas such as underarms, necklines, and cuffs.
Handwashing is always the best and safest method for washing lyocell.
Add 2 capfuls or a squirt of Delicate Wash to a washbasin or sink filled with cool water.
Submerge the item and gently agitate the water with your hands to evenly distribute soap. Soak for up to 30 minutes.
Rinse well by running cool water through the item until the water is no longer soapy. Do not wring. Instead, press the water out of the item.
Dry & Finish
Machine dry at a medium setting, or hang to dry.
Lyocell can wrinkle but is resistant to wrinkles; if any wrinkles appear, we recommend steaming for the best and safest finish. Lyocell ironing is simple, just hover over the item using the steam setting, or press using a warm setting.
