To clean canvas material, or something like a canvas couch, start with pretreatment. Some canvas bags and other canvas items will lose stiffness and structure when laundered. To prevent changes in the material or construction, we recommend spot treating.
To spot treat, wet the Wash & Stain Bar and gently work into the stained area(s).
Remove soap and dirt with a wet Lint-Free Cleaning Cloth—be sure to remove all soap. Dampen the cloth as needed, and repeat the process until satisfied.
Skip to the Dry & Finish step, and continue by steaming.
Stain Solution is ideal for protein and tannin stains, such as wine, coffee, ink, grass, urine, blood, and old, set-in stains.
The Wash & Stain Bar works the material to remove dirt, grease, oil, and makeup.
To remove odor, presoak the item for 30 minutes in hot water mixed with ¼ cup of Scented Vinegar.
Cotton and linen can withstand tumble drying with high heat; however, canvas items (such as tote bags and sneakers) are best line-dried to preserve shape.
To remove wrinkles, iron on the highest temperature setting, or steam.
To freshen between uses, spritz with Fabric Fresh Classic. It’s a safe, nontoxic, allergen-free fabric spray that adds scent while removing odor!
Always store items clean.
