Darks Detergent is our formula designed for everyday darks.
Everyday items are made of cotton, linen, or durable synthetics: socks, cotton underwear, T-shirts, black pants, button-down shirts, and sheets and towels. This product is formulated with color guard, surfactants, and stain-fighting enzymes that are not found in grocery store-brand products. Color guard keeps colors vibrant, while stain-fighting enzymes work to clean clothes and remove microfibrils (lint), dust, and pet hair throughout the washing cycle.
Contrary to popular belief, water temperature is not related to color loss. Fading typically happens as a result of the high heat and tumbling in the dryer. To preserve color, line drying is best. Normal wear and tear can also cause colors to fade over time.
Generally, darks can be laundered in warm or cold water. Hot water is used to treat dinginess (resulting from a buildup of fiber, minerals, or soap that makes colors look less vibrant). Presoaking dingy items with our stain-fighting products and washing in hot water helps to remove this buildup and brighten colors. When these items are only moderately soiled, launder with warm or cold water.
