Saved My New Jean Jacket
Review by Susan
Scented Vinegar 16 fl. oz.
I recently ordered and received a new denim jacket. The jacket fell victim to the West Coast dock strike in transit and sat dock-bound for weeks. It came to me pungent with the odor of creosote, smoke, and oil (and remained pungent after two days of breezy airing.)
Rejecting the manufacturer's coldwash instructions, I followed the expert advice of The Laundress: Hot-water soakings in Scented Vinegar and All-Purpose Bleach Alternative. The jacket was SO filthy it took two soakings before the discarded water looked clean. I followed by laundering with scented detergent (I chose Delicate Wash.)
My jean jacket looks new and smells fantastic, leaving a scent trail of Delicate Wash's rich amber, bergamot, lavender and musk as it passes by . . .
