Awarded Best Fine Fabric Wash by Good Housekeeping! We are absolute fanatics about the proper care for our beloved sweaters. Why dry clean when you can provide better care for your woolens at home? Safely clean and preserve wool, cashmere, merino, mohair, and blends with this specially formulated wash.
Cedar is our modern take on the traditional woody scent. This sweet and spicy blend combines sandalwood, orange, and rose with a base of cedar.
We consider woolens to include fibers such as sheep’s wool, lamb’s wool, cashmere, merino, pashmina, angora, mohair, camelhair, and alpaca, as well as any wool blends and wool-like synthetics made to look like wool, such as acrylic.
Most wool items labeled “dry clean” are generally launderable, but when an item is labeled “dry clean only,” the best way to care for it between cleanings is to steam and treat with Wool & Cashmere Spray.
To remove wrinkles, we recommend steaming for the best and safest finish. Never iron as ironing will crush or flatten the natural pile of the yarns.
It’s always important to clean woolens before storing, as perfume, body products, body oil, food, and dirt can surface later and be much harder to get out. Before packing, spritz with Wool & Cashmere Spray and place in a breathable fabric, such as The Laundress All-Purpose Storage Bag. Never store using plastic, cardboard, drawer liners, and contact paper, as they all attract bugs and encourage bug reproduction.
Never... Wash with detergents. Use bleach. Use fabric softener. Machine dry. Dry in direct sunlight. Iron. Hang to dry. Store dirty. Store in plastic. Dry clean.
For best results: We recommend handwashing or machine washing in cold water. If machine washing, use a delicate or woolen cycle. Turn item inside out and insert in a Mesh Bag (optional). Lay flat to dry in natural shape. Never use the dryer. Steam as needed. Launder as follows:
