A light fabric with a slightly pebbly or crimped texture, crepe may be made of silk, wool, or synthetic fibers; examples include crepe satin, crepe georgette, and wool crepe.

Wash according to the instructions below unless the fabric content/care label specifies “viscose” and “dry clean.”

If the composition is rayon or you are unsure, perform a water test.

Treat stains with Stain Solution or the Wash & Stain Bar. Focus on susceptible areas such as underarms, necklines, and cuffs.

Stain Solution is ideal for protein and tannin stains, such as wine, coffee, ink, grass, urine, blood, and old, set-in stains such as pit stains.

The Wash & Stain Bar works the material to remove dirt, grease, oil, and makeup.

To remove odor, presoak the item for 30 minutes in cool water mixed with ¼ cup of Scented Vinegar.

Handwashing is always the best and safest method for washing crepe.

Add 2 capfuls or a squirt of Delicate Wash to a washbasin or sink filled with cool water. For wool or wool-like items, use Wool & Cashmere Shampoo.

Submerge the item and gently agitate the water with your hands to evenly distribute soap. Soak for up to 30 minutes.

Rinse well by running cool water through the item until the water is no longer soapy. Do not wring. Instead, press the water out of the item.

Machine Wash

Turn the item inside out, and place it in a Mesh Washing Bag.

Select the delicate cycle on the washing machine, and make sure the water temperature is cold and the spin is on low.

Add the appropriate amount of Delicate Wash. or Wool & Cashmere Shampoo according to the machine and load size.

Dry & Finish

Lay the item flat in its natural shape on a drying rack or hang to dry. Do not put it in the dryer!

Most crepe items will be wrinkled after laundering. We recommend steaming for the best and safest finish.

If you don’t have a steamer, you can use the iron by hovering over the item and using the steam setting.

To freshen items between wearings, spritz with Delicate Spray or Wool & Cashmere Spray.

Knit items should be stored folded to prevent stretching or distorting. Woven items such as pants can be hung.

Always store items clean.

We recommend storing in a breathable cotton Storage Bag to protect items from bugs.

Storing in plastic encourages yellowing and can trap mildew-causing moisture, a prime environment for bugs.
