Freshening items:
To freshen everyday laundry items between washes, The Laundress uses our Fabric Fresh. This versatile formula has antibacterial properties that add scent while removing odor, keeping items smelling clean and fresh. It’s great for closets and drawers, too.
You can also steam items, which kills most germs and bacteria, helping to eliminate odors. Include Ironing Water for added scent.
Removing wrinkles:
Between wears, you can iron everyday laundry items for a crisp finish.
For a more relaxed finish, you can steam out wrinkles using a steamer or an iron set to the Steam setting. Include Ironing Water for added scent.
In a pinch or on the go, The Laundress uses our Crease Release spray. It easily removes moderate wrinkles, leaving items smelling clean and fresh.
Preventing and controlling static:
The Laundress uses our non-aerosol formula, Static Solution, to release static electricity while freshening. Since you never know when static will strike, keep a bottle on hand!
Remove lint:
Keep items looking neat by removing lint. We use our Clothing & Upholstery Brush or our Pet & Lint Brush.

Freshen sheets and bedding:
To freshen sheets, quilts, pillows, and other bedding items between washes, The Laundress uses our Fabric Fresh. This versatile formula has antibacterial properties that add scent while removing odor, keeping items smelling clean and fresh. It’s great for linen closets and drawers, too.
In between washing sheets and other bedding, you can also steam a made bed. The steam kills most germs and bacteria, helping to eliminate odors. Steaming works great for “Dryclean Only” items as well as items that are not readily washable such as mattresses and pillows.
If towels are not fresh, we recommend that you wash them rather than simply freshening.

Freshening:
To freshen these fabrics between washes, The Laundress uses our Delicate Spray, formulated specifically for delicates. This versatile formula has antibacterial properties that add scent while removing odor, keeping items smelling clean and fresh. It’s great for closets and drawers, too.
In between washes, you can also steam delicate items. The steam kills most germs and bacteria, helping to eliminate odors. If the item isn’t actually dirty, you don’t need to take it to the drycleaners. Instead, save money and reduce cleaning wear on an item by steaming it at home. For added scent, add Ironing Water to the steamer. Steaming works great for “Dryclean Only” items as well as items that are not readily washable, such as curtains.

De-pilling:
Pills are caused by wearing (rather than washing) and occur in areas of friction. This is why they form in areas such as the interior of pant legs, where arms rub along sides, and where bag straps rub shoulders. Pills most often form on woolens, but cotton and synthetics are not immune to pilling. Upholstery can also pill in higher-use areas.
How to de-pill:
Use our de-pilling comb or stone. We use our Sweater Comb for finer-gauge knits such as light-weight sweaters, T-shirts, or pants. For heavier-gauge items, such as thicker sweaters, outwear, or heavy upholstery, we use our Sweater Stone. If you only want to own one de-pilling tool, our comb can be used for either type of fabric.
Brushing:
Brushing helps maintain a fabric’s natural oils and remove lint. Brush sweaters, upholstery, outerwear, and any items with lint accumulation using our Cashmere Brush to keep them looking neat and clean.
