After a serene summer day at the beach or pool, clearing our swim gear out of the car or a tote can sometimes slip our minds. But if left unattended for too long, forgotten wet towels can become musty and mildew-ridden. Luckily with The Laundress' highly concentrated, plant-derived laundry solutions, tarnished towels can be cleaned and renewed in a breeze!

It's all about the pretreat

Apply The Laundress Stain Solution directly onto the affected area. Then sprinkle The Laundress All-Purpose Bleach Alternative onto the solution to create a powerful cleaning paste. Together, these formulas fight stains and kill growth in a safe and effective manner.
Scrub it in

Use a Laundress Stain Brush to work the mixture into the fabric. Pour boiling water from a kettle onto the affected area -- the force of the pouring water helps to do the work.

Don't stop till you soak

Soak the towel in a bath of hot water mixed with The Laundress Scented Vinegar for as long as possible. Vinegar naturally fights mildew and deodorizes fabrics. Repeat until the spots have disappeared and odor is expelled.

Toss in the towel

Once you see mildew stains lifting, machine wash the towel in hot water on the normal cycle. Add the appropriate amount of Laundress Signature Detergent. Its stain-fighting enzymes and mineral-derived enhancers will provide the most thorough clean and tackle this tough laundry challenge! Do not add fabric softener or conditioner during this cycle.

Dare to dry

Only dry when you are sure that all traces of mildew are gone. Opt for a high heat setting to ensure towels are dried to entirety.
