As a female-founded and run-brand, we’ve never been more proud of the accomplishments of women, from Kamala Harris making history as the first elected vice president of the United States to the momentous amount of female entrepreneurs, leaders, and changemakers today. So to show our support and admiration for leading ladies, we rounded up 22 picks we’re loving from female-founded brands. Here’s to continuing to lift each other up and to even more girl power in the new year!
1. HUE STICK | LIVE TINTED
To founder Deepica Mutyala, live tinted means to embrace your skin tone. She developed the line of targeted makeup sticks after finding a majority of her online community of Asian, Black, and Latinx followers suffered from dark circles and struggled to find a product that could conceal them. Live Tinted’s Hue Sticks were the answer and are also formulated to be used as eye, cheek, and lip colors.
2. SQUEAKY CLEAN HAND SANITIZER | MEGABABE
A good habit we’ve picked up this year? Applying hand sanitizer on repeat. This vegan formula by gal pal Katie Sturino is infused with marula oil, sweet almond oil, and aloe to leave hands clean and supple. The hefty, 2021-appropriate bottle is ideal for desktops, kitchen counters, and entryways so you can always have your hand sanitizer within arm’s reach.
3. SUSTAINABLE SILK SCARVES | LARA
Italian-made Lara is all about re-introducing the art of the foulard (AKA a tie or handkerchief) to the millennial generation as a wardrobe staple. Lara is committed to true sustainability and maintains a zero-waste policy where no fabric is wasted; all scraps and leftover silk are transformed into an accessory to be treasured, not trashed.
4. LUNCH ON ME | FOOD & HEALING FOR HOMELESSNESS
This Los Angeles based non-profit founded by LaRayia Gasto is dedicated to ending hunger while providing opportunities to feed the mind, body, and spirit of Los Angeles’s homeless community. The organization delivers nutritious, organic meals to the homeless six days a week and feeds approximately 10,000 people a month.
5. NON-ALCOHOLIC APERITIF | GHIA
Founder Melanie Masarin wanted to bring more intention and togetherness to the act of drinking… without having to use alcohol. Inspired by childhood summers in the Mediterranean, Melanie developed alcohol and sugar-free apéritifs packed with pure, natural extracts chosen to soothe, stimulate, and make you feel good, whether you’re savoring a glass solo (elevate the experience by sipping out out of glassware by Estelle Colored Glass) or enjoying in a social setting.
6. EVA DRESS | MI GOLONDRINA
This flowy number—crafted by Mexican artisans in a small village in Mexico—is not only gorgeous, but woven with rich culture, a foundation Cristina Lynch created Mi Golondrina upon. “Inspired by my mother’s Mexican heritage and love of Mexican art, I wanted to continue telling the story of Mexican art by preserving the traditions of hand-embroidery and empowering artisans throughout Mexico,” she says. Every Mi Golondrina garment is born in the small villages of Mexico, hand-stitched by skilled artisans, employing methods used for over 200 years.
7. No.723 COLLECTION | THE LAUNDRESS

10. MACARON TOYS | LE PETIT ORGANIC
You’re conscious about the integrity of the food you consume and the personal and household products you use, but what about your children’s clothing and accessories? Jay K. Smith’s Le Petit Organic offers vintage, organic, and eco-friendly picks for kiddos that you can also feel really good about.
11. BABY DETERGENT | THE LAUNDRESS
Give it up for parent power! This plant-derived formula is gentle on skin and fabrics, tough on stains and odors, and soothing for the senses with its soft lavender and vanilla scent. (P.S. you don’t have to be a parent to love it—this detergent is one of our top-sellers, parent or not.)
12. PINK SPRINKLE POP | ARTSUGAR
Merging a passion for drawing and art history with her dedication to giving back, Cornell alum (our founders’ alma mater!) 13. SUPPORT BREATHE SURFACE CLEANER | THE LAUNDRESS x AROMATHERAPY ASSOCIATES
We united with female-founded Aromatherapy Associates (born in 1985 after Geraldine Howard and Sue Beechey’s passion for blending essential oils transformed into a desire to share the benefits of aromatherapy with a wider audience) to create this essential-oil spiked household cleaner. Formulated to clean and purify all surfaces — from countertops and stainless steel to bathroom fixtures, finished wood, and tiles — we mixed our versatile and best-selling Surface Cleaner with Aromatherapy Associates’ Support Breathe, a blend of tea tree, peppermint, and eucalyptus essential oils to soothe and increase clarity.

Now you can wear your stories and your heart on your neck and wrist! Rondel features 18-karat gold necklaces and bracelets in a matte finish, adorned with hand-drawn charms and lockets handcrafted in Europe.
16. LOUNGEWEAR | THE WAIGHT
It's true. Good things come to those who wait (or in this case, waight). The Waight's founder—and early Laundress intern!— was inspired by British designer Claire Waight Keller for her pre-order business model and small batch production that's been thoughtfully designed to reduce waste. It also uses materials that are natural, organic, comfortable, and of course, luxurious.
17. DRY CLEANING DETOX KIT | THE LAUNDRESS
Cofounders Gwen and Lindsey founded The Laundress as an alternative to dry cleaning. This kit contains some of the brand’s heritage products that clean, purify, and smooth “dry clean only” items without the use of chemical-heavy dry cleaning.

19. LAVENDER POUCH | THE LAUNDRESS
Our famed Lavender Pouch is designed by Fog Linen, a Japanese lifestyle brand founded by Yumiko Sekine. Tuck these petite, dried lavender-packed sachets into drawers, closets, and armoires for a soothing scent and to keep sweaters, outerwear, suits, cashmere, and wool items fresh during storage.
20. NATURAL REMEDIES | HILMA
After becoming more cognizant about the products they kept in their homes, founders Nina, Hilary, and Lily realized there was one space that hadn’t kept up with the Joneses: their medicine cabinets. They wanted natural remedies backed by science that proved they actually worked, but found none of the solutions on the market had clinical data to back it up. The women set out to develop just that with Hilma, which provides effective, holistic and transparent over-the-counter remedies for everything from headaches and upset stomach to immune support.
21. WOOL DRYER BALLS
Our handmade dryer balls are a naturally chic and sustainable alternative to dryer sheets. Handcrafted of 100% repurposed pure wool fiber, they work their magic to speed up laundry’s dry time, remove static and lint, and fluff up fabrics. Use them load after load — they last for ages, so they also help reduce waste. Win!

This special brand (led by Haiti-born, Turkey-based designer Sophia Demirtas) employs in-house artisans that use both traditional and proprietary hand embroidery techniques to craft their pieces.
