The changing of the clock in spring always serves as a reminder for Gwen & Lindsey to tackle some bigger, seasonal items on their to-do lists. These are the tasks that don’t need regular attention but also need not be forgotten. Follow these steps to ensure your home is running smoothly throughout the year.
1. STEAM AND FLIP MATTRESS
A good night’s sleep is one of the most important tools in your wellness arsenal. Steaming your mattress regularly can reduce allergens, meaning you can breathe easier. Also, remember to flip your mattress so it wears evenly and doesn’t develop dips.
2. WASH WINDOWS
This is a good time of year to give your windows a thorough exterior cleaning. Power washing works well for most but if you’re a city dweller living in an apartment or condo, be sure to give the interior glass and sills a good deep clean. Read more about cleaning windows minus streaks here.
3. WASH CURTAINS AND CLEAN WINDOW TREATMENTS
Window treatments can host dust and dirt over time. It’s important to launder curtains and clean blinds regularly. This is a good time of year to clean these areas.
4. CLEAN REFRIDGERATOR AND FREEZER
Aside from your ongoing efforts to rid your refrigerator of long-forgotten leftovers, it’s also important to give it a deep clean and deodorizing treatment. Put your rubber gloves on and dive in with this how-to.
5. DUST AND CLEAN KEYBOARD AND COMPUTER SCREENS

7. CHANGE BATTERIES

9. PURGE CLOTHING AND LINENS
Everything has a lifespan – from clothing to linens and towels. When switching your wardrobe for the warmer weather, it’s important to purge the pieces you don’t wear and donate them. 10. WASH AND POLISH DISPLAY CHINA

11. WIPE FORGOTTEN FURNITURE TOPS AND NOOKS
Tops of buffets and cabinets, as well as wood trims and details, can be easily forgotten or ignored during regular cleaning sessions. Over time, these areas can accumulate dust that can spread to other areas of your home.
