How-To | Ditch Dirt and Mud

Apr 19, 2018

Despite appearances, dirty knees and muddy elbows are sure signs of some good clean fun. When you and your family gets down and dirty, stubborn stains are all part of the game. Ditch dirt and give mud the boot with our step-by-step guide.

Gather These Tools:

Stain Solution, Stain Brush, All-Purpose Bleach Alternative, Wash Tub Basin

Remove Excess

Gently brush off excess dirt to prevent smearing. If your mud stain is still wet, wait for it to dry before treating.

Pretreat Stains

Pour Stain Solution directly onto affected areas. Use your finger or the Stain Brush to work the solution into the stain.

Work Stain

For added cleaning power, put the affected area under the faucet and let the pressure of the hot water help work the stain. For treating wool and silk items, use cool water.

Soak It Out

Soak the item in a basin filled with hot water and 1 capful of All-Purpose Bleach Alternative.*

*Do not use All-Purpose Bleach Alternative for wool and silk. Soak in cool water for up to 30 minutes.

Wash the item according to fabric type.
