Another school year is around the corner and we know it can be overwhelming prepping the kiddos. From replacing clothes they've outgrown to getting all of their activities in order, there seems like so much to do as the summer winds down. We’ve compiled this checklist to help you ace your back to school prep!
1. Schedule doctor appointments and hair cuts
Before the hectic season fills up with homework, sports practice and extracurriculars, make sure your budding scholars are up to date on their checkups. Give them an extra confidence boost and kick off their year with a fresh hair cut.
2. Deep clean bedrooms and playrooms
After a summer packed with play dates and beach days, it’s time to give those rooms a good clean. Wipe down surface areas with our Surface Cleaner and Lint-Free Cleaning Cloths. Banish strong odors by filling a bowl with our Scented Vinegar and let it sit in the room. For an extra deep clean, create a powerful solution with our All-Purpose Cleaning Concentrate.
3. Sift through old paper piles and clear out filing space
Recycle papers from last school year to make room for memos, report cards and files for the new school year. Designate a file folder for each kid so everything is in one place.
4. Freshen up backpacks and lunch boxes
Those backpacks and lunchboxes have collected dust over the summer. Follow this guide to get rid of any hardened dirt and grime.
5. Sort through closets and donate items
Back to school shopping starts with back to school purging. Start to flip summer closets and donate items that no longer fit and/or damaged and make room for new threads!
6. Clean and press fall outfits and school uniforms
Pull the fall wardrobe from storage and freshen it up for the season. Follow these steps to make sure wardrobe is top notch!
7. Create a drop-zone for backpacks and outerwear
To maintain a clean home amidst the school year chaos, create an area near the front entrance where little ones can drop off book bags, coats and shoes, instead of scattering them around the home.
8. Start a central household calendar
With so much to do, it seems like staying on top of it is its own endeavor. Keep track of reminders and appointments so everyone can get their gold star.
9. Stock up on lunch items and snacks
Making your way through a packed schedule is easier on a full belly! Prep lunch meals and snacks that are filled with nutrients for your growing kiddos.
10. Prep a homework station
Create a spacious work area where the children can spread out and get their work done together. Make room for an extra seat at the table if they need your help!
