How To Clean The Air Fryer and Instant Pot

Kitchen gadgets like Instant Pots and Air Fryers makes cooking in the kitchen simple, but unlike conventional pots and pans, cleaning them can get tricky. We mapped things out for you here.

Gather these tools: Home Cleaning Heroes, Lint-Free Cleaning Cloths, Dish Brush, All-Purpose Bleach Alternative, Stain Brush

AIR FRYER

Step 1: Unplug The Air Fryer

Turn the appliance off and let it cool.

Step 2: Wipe It Down

Dampen a Lint-Free Cleaning Cloth with warm water and a squirt of Dish Detergent and drag along the outside of the appliance. Remove all parts, then repeat on the inside. Use a fresh dampened cloth to remove soap. Allow to dry.

Step 3: Wash The Parts

Your air fryer’s basket, tray, and pan can be washed with Dish Detergent, a Dish Brush, and warm water. If your air fryer’s parts are dishwasher safe, you can pop them in there instead. (If the basket or pan has baked-on food or grease, first soak in hot water and a capful of All-Purpose Bleach Alternative for about 30 minutes before washing.) Dry all parts thoroughly before replacing them in air fryer.

INSTANT POT

Step 1: Clean Cooker Base

Clean the exterior of the cooker base with a damp Lint-Free Cleaning Cloth and some Dish Detergent.

If you need to clean the area around the lip of the cooker, use a cloth or small brush like our Stain Brush.

Step 2: Tend To Inner Pot, Steam Rack & Lid

These parts are dishwasher safe (use the top rack for the lid only). Run a cycle or handwash with Dish Detergent and a Dish Brush. To remove dullness, odors, or water stains, soak with a capful or two of Scented Vinegar and warm water before washing.

Step 3: Wash Anti-Block Shield

The anti-block shield underneath the lid should be removed and cleaned after each use. Wash with warm, soapy water and allow to dry before replacing.
