How To Clean Makeup Brushes

When does your cleaning routine overlap with your beauty routine? When your liquid foundation, concealer, and blush brushes look like even their makeup is layered on a bit too heavily!

Washing makeup brushes should be incorporated into your regular once-a-week cleaning routine. Not only will this ensure your investment brushes last, but it will prevent clogged pores and breakouts as this is often a result of dirty, unkempt brushes. Follow our steps to achieve the results that you and your skin will love!

GATHER THESE TOOLS: Wool & Cashmere Shampoo, Lint-Free Cleaning Cloths

Rinse It Out

First, use a faucet running cool water to thoroughly rinse bristles and remove makeup residue. Massaging bristles with your fingers will help expedite the process.

Take a Dip

Next, fill a basin or bowl with tepid water and a squirt of Wool & Cashmere Shampoo. Swirl the brush in this soapy mixture.

Repeat the Rinse

Rinse soapy water from bristles with tepid water making sure that rinse water runs clear of suds and makeup. If bubbles or residue is still visible, repeat the rinse until clear.

Dry Bar

Extract excess water by gently pressing wet bristles in a Lint-Free Cleaning Cloth and lay the brush flat on the cloth until completely dry. The drying process may take a few hours so it's best to wash AFTER you apply your makeup for the day!
