Things We Love: Beachwear & How To Care

Summer is in full swing and beach days are on the horizon! Regularly in search of high tides and good vibes, resident beach babes Gwen and Lindsey are sharing their personal gear guide and how to care for each item – from swim fins and sunglasses, to rash guards and cover ups.

We could go on and on about our love for this super chic rash guard. Printed on Italian fabric that's engineered to reduce waste, it also boasts SPF 50 sun protection. Perfect for surfing and water sports.

To care: Pretreat to remove any sunscreen or stains with The Laundress Wash & Stain Bar. Run warm water over the bar and work into a lather. Treat the affected areas and allow to sit for 2-3 minutes. Next, handwash using The Laundress Sport Detergent. Fill a wash basin or your sink with cool water. Add 1 capful of Sport Detergent. Add the rash guard and agitate to evenly disperse the soapy water. Allow the item to sit for 30 minutes. Rinse with cool water until the water is no longer soapy and lay flat to dry on a drying rack or hang to dry.

Gwen and Lindsey swoon for crisp, clean white furniture and home decor, so when it comes to beach chairs? they are no different! This lightweight chair is easy to transport to and from the beach and easy to clean.

To care: Spot treat with The Laundress Wash & Stain Bar. Wet the bar with warm water and create a lather. Apply to soiled or stained areas, gently rubbing across the surface until the stain begins to disappear. Soak The Laundress Lint-Free Cleaning Cloth in warm water and gently blot the area. Allow to air dry.

Who says it's a bad thing to see things through rose-colored glasses? These blush frames look gorgeous against sun-kissed summer skin and the rose gold inlay gives them an extra wow factor.

To care: Gently spritz The Laundress Lint-Free Cleaning Cloth with The Laundress Glass & Mirror Cleaner. Rub the areas and gently clean lenses as needed.

Gwen and Lindsey can't get enough of a good beach cover-up. This off the shoulder beauty is perfect to throw on for a quick lunch al fresco or when traveling to and from the pool.

To care: Pretreat any stains with The Laundress Stain Solution, gently agitating affected areas with The Laundress Stain Brush. Next, add 1 capful of The Laundress Delicate Wash to a wash basin or a sink full of warm to cool water. Submerge the item and agitate with your hands to evenly distribute the soap. Allow the garment to soak for 30 minutes. Rinse the item until the water is no longer soapy. Press the water out of the garment (do not wring), then lay flat to dry on a drying rack or hang to dry.

Dressed up or dressed down, bring on the flip flops! Gwen and Lindsey particularly love this metallic pair which goes well with nearly everything in their summer wardrobes.

To care: If the thong portion is looking a bit discolored, treat with The Laundress Wash & Stain Bar. Lather the bar in hot water and work it into the sole and thong; then rinse. This method is appropriate and effective on rubber/canvas sandals. When cleaning all plastic flip flops like Havaianas, you can soak them – or even add them to the dishwasher – and use The Laundress Dish Detergent to disinfect and leave them sparkling clean.

It's no secret Gwen and Lindsey love their blazers, and this one has a beach-friendly twist. Made of Turkish terry velour, it'll dry you off quickly, but also looks chic thrown over a cute top or paired with white jeans for dinner out on the town.

To care: Treat any stains or soiled areas with The Laundress Stain Solution and machine wash in hot water with your favorite Laundress detergent. To whiten and brighten, or tackle any dinginess, add 1 capful of The Laundress All-Purpose Bleach Alternative directly to the machine. Hang to dry.

These leading Laundresses have the need for speed. These short blade training fins give them a serious edge under the sea.

To care: To freshen fins, fill your sink or a wash basin with cold water and 1 cap of The Laundress Dish Detergent. Allow to soak for 15 minutes, then rinse with cool water until the soap is removed. If soiled, you can pretreat by scrubbing with The Laundress Scrub Brush or Stain Brush before submerging into the Dish Detergent mixture. Lay in a sunny spot to dry.

We love The Laundress Beckel Canvas Tote Bag for everything – from the farmers market to the beach – Gwen and Lindsey both have theirs monogrammed with their first initial.

To care: Machine wash as needed or spot treat with The Laundress Wash & Stain Bar to maintain stiffness. Always air dry.
