Incorporate Scented Vinegar Into Your Laundry Routine
The words vinegar and laundry together may seem like an unlikely pair. But, surprisingly, The Laundress Scented Vinegar is a powerhouse in the laundry room – doing everything from removing odors to giving colors a boost. It's got all of the cleaning and deodorizing properties you've come to love in regular vinegar but without the off-putting smell. Read on to discover five ways you can incorporate Scented Vinegar into your regular laundry routine.
To eliminate smells that may have been absorbed by your clothing or other textiles, pretreat by soaking the item in a wash basin or sink filled with one capful of Scented Vinegar and tepid water (water temperature will vary depending on fabric type) or apply directly to underarm or odor area before washing.
Soak cotton and durable synthetics for at least one hour and woolens for no longer than 30 minutes. Run a wash cycle adding one cup of Scented Vinegar only. Follow with a regular wash cycle using the appropriate detergent.
Did a towel or a tissue find its way into the wash with your darks? Re-run the cycle using 1/2 cup of Scented Vinegar. The vinegar acts as a natural static guard and keeps lint at bay.
Add 1/2 cup of Scented Vinegar to the final rinse and you'll see brighter, clearer colors immediately. Simply add the Scented Vinegar to the fabric softener dispenser, or add the vinegar manually at the beginning of the rinse cycle. The vinegar works to remove detergent residue which can dull the brightness in colored pieces.
When wet laundry towels pile up, or worse yet, get forgotten in the washing machine, the mildew smell can wreak havoc, but vinegar can remedy this. To restore freshness, fill the washer - top load or front loader - with hot water and two cups of Scented Vinegar. Run the items through the wash cycle. When finished, wash a second time using the proper detergent and disinfectant to reduce odors such as The Laundress Signature Detergent or The Laundress Whites Detergent.
Keep a spray bottle of Scented Vinegar in the laundry room to treat underarm stains and remove perspiration odor. Spray the vinegar directly on the underarm areas before laundering. The vinegar will cut through deodorant left on clothing while neutralizing odor.
