Before & After | Lindsey's Moncler Jacket

Don't Dry Clean That Moncler!

No brand achieves the balance of utility and fashion quite like Moncler. Drawing inspiration from couture designs, their structured down jackets with the finest of trimmings often (and understandably) get pigeonholed into the category of a high fashion therefore "Dry Clean Only" garment. But we mustn't forget that while the jacket does now "live in the city" it was actually "born in the mountains". This iconic piece was (and still is) the top choice of world-renowned athletes and explorers and can withstand the harshest of elements. If this jacket can withstand the peaks of Karakorum to Makalu, it should certainly be able to weather a wash cycle! Moncler down jackets might say they're dry clean only, but we can teach you how to wash them at home.

  • Apply Stain Solution directly to any stains or stain-prone areas. The Stain Solution is ideal for removing tannin and stubborn stains, new and old.
  • For added cleaning power, hold the area being treated beneath a faucet running tepid water to help work the stain.

  • Detach all removable pieces of the jacket such as the hood and clear out all pockets.
  • Place detachable pieces into a small Mesh Bag and the jacket in a large Mesh Bag to wash. This will prevent any tangling or snagging during the wash cycle.

  • Machine wash on the delicate/woolens cycle selecting a warm/cold water temperature.
  • Add 1 capful or a squirt of Wool & Cashmere Shampoo into the machine and start your cycle!

  • Machine dry on low heat, low tumble.
  • Add clean tennis balls to the dryer to redistribute feathers and down filling.
  • Steam for best results. Steaming between washing and wearing will help to eliminate mites and allergens.
