WASHING SPORTS/ACTIVE WEAR
Tennis, Golf, Running, Biking, Soccer, Yoga and more.

Dry Cleaning chemicals are not good for you or fabrics. Chlorine Bleach will damage and weaken synthetic and polyester fabrics. Chlorine Bleach turns polyester and nylon yellow. It also weakens elasticity and will cause cotton to tear with repeated use. There are some everyday products, such as sunscreen and deodorant that can discolor and stain fabric, so make sure to pre-treat.

Washing Performance Fabrics
(lycra, spandex, nylon, polyester, gore-tex, polar-fleece, insulated fabrics)
• Sort your laundry before washing. Always wash whites together and without other colors. Performance textiles are best washed together.
• Pre-treat and examine for stains: pre-treat with our Stain Solution and Stain Brush or Wash & Stain Bar. Always treat stains first and presoak for most effective removal.
• To remove dirt, grease, grime and stains treat with Stain Solution with The Laundress Stain Brush.

• To remove odors: pre-wash or pre-soak with The Laundress Scented Vinegar. Apply vinegar directly on odor areas and work stain solution into the fabric. Soak well.
• For super dingy whites, pre-soak. Make a bath of hot water and the All-Purpose Bleach Alternative. Apply Stain Solution directly on stained areas. Soak items for at least an hour or overnight. You may want to rinse dirty water and repeat.
• Launder with hot water and The Laundress Sport Detergent which combines color guard and enzymes.
•For extra whitening and prevent dinginess Add All-Purpose Bleach Alternative directly to the drum of the washing machine.

General Machine Washing Tips:
Pre-treat any stained areas before washing.
Wash like colors together
We recommend putting any delicate items/constructions (such as reflectors, buttons, zippers) in a mesh washing bag to protect in the machine.
Use the delicate cycle for any of the products made of viscose or rayon with cold water. A normal cycle and hot or warm water can be used with cotton, linen, and synthetics.

General Drying Tips:
Most damage occurs in the dryer vs. the washer. We recommend line/air drying. Otherwise, if using the dryer use a low heat low tumble cycle. It is best if items are removed before completely dry to hang to finish. Avoid drying in direct sunlight as sun can discolor or weaken fibers.
